[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]We’ve all been there! Something starts to rumble in your tummy, it takes you off guard, grabs you from behind! Is it something I ate, do I have gas, or could it be, please NO, am I about to get sick? Suddenly you remember your neighbor, friend or colleague mentioning something about being sick last week. Now the nausea sets in, you begin to feel flush, is it hot in here??? The rest I will leave up to your imagination, but during those moments, making a pack with the devil isn’t too far off base! Please, anything but the STOMACH FLU!!
This year the flu is hitting hard all across America. Some are suffering from the more traditional influenza with the bone aching, fever, chill, can hardly get out of bed flu, while others are suffering from various forms of the stomach flu such as RotaVirus. Fortunately for those open to natural health, homeopathy is the perfect go to! Have no FEAR, HOMEOPATHY IS HERE!!!
There are several remedies for the stomach flu, and I will list a few of them here.
Arsenicum album-A must have in any natural medicine cabinet. Think burning pains, deathly nausea, tongue is coated and white. There may be a frantic, restless, anxious quality to the patient. They are chilly and definitely aggravated by cold. There may be a burning sensation in the esophagus or stomach with a desire for small sips of water, however liquids are poorly tolerated and are often immediately vomited. There may be diarrhea often with acrid, offensive, watery stool.
Veratrum album-gastroenteritis with simultaneous vomiting and diarrhea. Projectile vomiting, with violent diarrhea. This patient is also cold, and worse from cold, but at some level an even deeper chilliness than Arsenicum. There may be a cold sweat, especially on the forehead, with cold breath. There is an extreme state of weakness and collapse.
Podophyllum-One of the more common acute diarrhea remedies. A first go to. Profuse diarrhea often mixed with gas and sputtering. Explosive diarrhea, soils the entire toilet bowl. Stool is watery and profuse and sometimes horribly offensive. Stool may be yellow, pasty or mucus filled or may even contain blood. Abdominal pain, and cramps, worse before or during stool, better after stool or from holding abdomen or bending forward.
Ipecacuahna-(homeopathic ipecac that is)Whenever nausea and vomiting are the prominent element of a case we often think of this remedy. There is NO relief from the nausea, even after vomiting. Constant nausea which is incapacitating;stomach seems to hang loose inside;nausea unrelieved by vomiting. There may be a migraine headache accompanying the nausea. Keynote to this remedy is a remarkably clean tongue despite the stomach issues.
There are many more homeopathic remedies for the flu, but these are surely the few that are often best to have on hand. You can purchase these at any health food store without a prescription. A 30c or 200c is a great place to start.
It is often hard to avoid the stomach flu, even for those in the best of shape and the strongest immune systems. Sometimes it just gets you! As far as other types of flus, you can do a lot to avoid it. I have said in the past, grandmothers old fashioned philosophies are best to ad hear to. A healthy diet is crucial. A diet rich in refined sugars will most certainly land you in bed with the flu if you get exposed. Drinking plenty of fluids, using Airborne if exposed or Emergen-C are great ways to help. Homeopathy has been treating the flu safely and effectively for over 200 years. Help is just a phone call away![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
